On Monday, April 6, an online conference was organised at SSU. University students and staff talked to students of Richland college (Dallas, US) and Humber college (Toronto, Canada). The conference was intended as part of the cooperative educational course "Global Economy".
It was the first online conference with three participants. Previously, SSU organised telebridges with Richland college. The subjects of discussion were the possible ways to overcome the global financial crisis and the recent XX Summit.
In the beginning of the telebridge, representatives of each participant made greeting speeches. SSU was represented by vice-rector for educational and organisational work I.G. Malinskiy. He wished success to all the participants of the conference and expressed his hope for the prospective cooperation.
Among the issues discussed at the telebridge were state planning of economy, changes in the trade policies and the use of energy resources.
Telebridges have been a tradition since 2005 and are organised three times during each semester. This conference was the second one of this semester. Traditionally, each first telebridge is dedicated to students' getting to know each other and discussing issues of cross-cultural communication, and each third one - to the role of governments in solving the acute global problems.
