The team "Sirventa" from SSU became winners of the Cup of Europe for Intellectual Games. The participants got the first place in the game "Erudit-quartet" and the second in "What? Where? When?"
The team are: Ekaterina Sveshnikova, Elizaveta Ivanova, Victoria Mokliuchenko, post-graduates Igor Filosofov and Anton Bochkarev, and graduate from Mordovia University Alexander Lukin.
The competition took place on November 6 to 8 in Peterhof. This competition is the final one of the season for student teams from European countries, that promote intellectual sport. This time, 24 teams from 7 countries participated: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. The Cup of Europe competition programme included popular intellectual games.
Team member ELizaveta Ivanova told us that the major competition at the Cup was "What? Where? When?"
В прошлом году команда университета стала победителем Чемпионата России по интеллектуальным играм в Нижнем Новгороде, а в 2006 году – обладателем Кубка Европы по «Брейн-рингу». Last year, the University team became winner of the Russian Championship of Intellectual Games in Nizhniy Novgorod, and in 2006 - winner of the Cup of Europe for "Brain-ring".
