In the recently published 2009 National Rating of Russia’s Top Higher Educational Establishments, Saratov State University is among the Top 20 in the country. One of the assessment criteria was the efficiency of the University’s Official Web-site (“The evaluation of the level of communication development within the global internet-space). According to these criteria, SSU holds 10th-12th places among all the Russian Universities’ web-sites.
During the evaluation of the University’s brand development, one fourth of the total score was given for the efficiency of the web-representative of SSU. The world-wide acknowledged combined rating system Alexa Rank was used to calculate the visiting statistics of the web-site.
The experts used three criteria of Alexa Rank for assessment (data for November, 2009): the rank of the site in the net (SSU site holds the 10th place in Russia among Higher Educational Establishments’ web-sites) and the number of reliable external links to the web-site’s main page, according to which SSU is also the 10th. Apart from that, the experts viewed the internal structure of the internet resource.
The high level of the Official Site influenced the total score received by SSU which is now acknowledged as one of the 20 Best Classical Universities of Russia.
