PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS

We accept applicants all year round
  • Pre-university training program (the Russian Language + other subjects)

  • "Russian as a Foreign Language" within the framework of the pre-university training program

  • The program “Russian as a Foreign Language. Level A2"

This program is targeted at foreign citizens who do not speak Russian and wish to study undergraduate (Bachelor) and graduate (Master) programs at SSU or other universities.

This program includes the study of the Russian Language (starter/beginner level) and 3 general educational subjects, depending on/according to the direction of the future specialty, i.e. where students plan to apply to in the future.

This program includes the study of the Russian as a foreign language of general knowledge only (without studying general subjects) from Beginner/Starter to B1 level.

  • Mode of study: full-time / via use of exclusively distance learning technologies (online mode)

Admission

Traditionally, Saratov State University enrollment campaign begins on June, 20th and ends at the end of August. If you are a foreign citizen, a person without citizenship, or a compatriot living abroad, provide the following documents when applying:

    to the groups provided by the Article 17 of the Federal Law dated May 24, 1999 No. 99-FL “On the National Policy of the Russian Federation towards Compatriots Living Abroad”

The applicant’s surname, name and patronymic (if any), indicated in the translations of the submitted documents, shall comply with the surname, name and patronymic indicated in the identity document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation. Residence

Processing of an invitation letter for entry into the Russian Federation for foreign citizens

General information:

  • For obtaining a study visa, the foreign citizen’s passport expiration date should not be less than 18 months from the date of intended/planed entry.
  • Scanned copy of passport should be clear and easy-to-read.
  • When a foreign citizen is going to apply for a Russian visa in a country differing from the country of citizenship, a copy of the document confirming the right of the foreign citizen for permanent stay in a third country and a notarized translation of this document should be attached to the documents submitted for processing an invitation letter. The document is meant to be valid for 6 months after the future Russian visa expiration.
  • An invitation for entry into the Russian Federation for foreign citizens is issued in electronic form and sent to the e-mail put on the application form when submitting documents.

For submission of documents for invitation processing, you need:

  1. Send an original passport scan (the first page with a photo) to balaeva.mal.sal@gmail.com;

  2. Send a scan of the latest Russian visa (if the foreign citizen previously visited Russian Federation);

  3. Fill in the application form at https://forms.gle/GErH2Gw63RNo5osd6;

  4. For invitations on humanitarian visas (scientific and technical cooperation), as well as for foreign citizens arriving to study at the SSU Preparatory Department, a state fee of 800 rubles is paid.The state fee is paid to the banking details.

Invitations procedure time:

Invitations procedure time is 40-45 working days

Invitation is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

After receiving an invitation, a foreign citizenhas to contact the Consular Division of the Russian Federation in the country of his/her living or permanent stay in order to receive a visa to enter the Russian Federation.

All foreign citizens have to follow the Migration Law. Experienced specialists from the Saratov State University Division of International Cooperation will assist:

Migration registration

On arrival to Russia and then in Saratov, international students areresponsible forcontacting the Saratov State University Division of International Cooperation (72/74 Zheleznodorozhnaya str., Saratov, room 111) within 2 working daysupon the arrival in the country formigration registration and dormitory check-in.

A foreign citizenprovides the following documents:

  1. a passport (original) and copies of filled out pages of the passport;
  2. a migration card issued at the point of entry into RF (original and 2 (two) copies);
  3. a coronavirus test (2 copies);
  4. a vaccination certificate (2 copies).

The specialist from theSaratov State University Division of International Cooperation (72/74 Zheleznodorozhnaya str., Saratov, room 111) processes the registration of international students within 7 calendar days.After 7 days, a foreign citizen is obliged to contact the Division and take a copy of the registration.

The following procedures which verify legal status for foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federationare required:

  • medical examination (address: Degtyarnaya Square,1A /Дегтярнаяплощадь 1А);
  • fingerprinting and photographing (in police departments at the place of registration).

Procedure for Visa Extension

A foreign citizen applies to theSaratov State University Division of International Cooperation for their visa extension.Foreign citizens collect the required documents and provide them to the Division45 days before the visa expiration.

The required documents:

  • a passport (Important: the passport expiration dateis to exceed validity period of a multiple-entry visa by 6 months);
  • copies of all filled out pages of the passport (for those who live in the dormitory);
  • copies of the passport two-page opening with a photo and with a valid visa (2 pcs.)
  • copies of migration card issued at the point of entry into RF (2 pcs);
  • copies of registration (2 pcs.)
  • 1 photo (size 3x4 cm);
  • a copy of medical insurance policy;
  • a copy of the document confirming the fingerprinting and photographing;
  • a bank invoice of state fee payment for the multiple-entry visa issue (1,600 rubles);
  • a copy of the student contract at SSU - for non-scholarship students /a copy of the certificate from the place of study (Dean's office or Directorate) – for scholarship students;
  • a letter of authorization by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;
  • a copy of the certificate of the Russian language courses completion (for Preparatory Departmentstudents)
