International Preparatory Programs

We accept applicants all year round
  • Preparatory Program (the Russian Language + other subjects)

    This program is targeted at foreign citizens who do not speak Russian and would like to enroll in undergraduate (Bachelor's), graduate (Master's) and postgraduate (PhD) programs at SSU or any other university.

    This program includes the study of the Russian Language (starter/beginner level) and 3 general educational subjects, depending on the students' future major.

    The list of majors :

    • Humanities (History, Social Studies, Literature)
    • Economics (History, Social Studies, Mathematics)
    • Medicine and Biology (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
    • Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry)
    • Engineering and Technology (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
    • Total hours: 1080 hours

    • Mode of study: full-time / via use of exclusively distance learning technologies (online mode)

    • Fee: 129 600 rubles / 118 800 rubles

    • Start: upon arrival from September 1 to June 30, from November 1 to August 31

    • Deadline for the program: December 5

  • Russian language course (from Beginner to B1)

    This language course is aimed at non-native Russian speakers who would like to enroll in Russian-taught academic programmes.

    • Total hours- 726 hours
    • Mode of study: full-time
    • Fee 87 120 rubles
    • Check-in dates (= school starts):
    • December 5 - January 14 up to June 30
  • Russian language course (from Beginner to A2)

    This language course is designed to help students achieve A2 level in Russian.

    • Total hours -380 hours
    • Mode of study: full-time
    • Fee 49 400 rubles

Admission

Traditionally, Saratov State University enrollment campaign begins on June, 20th and ends at the end of August. If you are a foreign citizen, a person without citizenship, or a compatriot living abroad, provide the following documents when applying:

    А copy of the applicant identity document, or an identity document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation

    Russian translation of the applicant identity document, or an identity document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation certified as required by RF Law

  • №03

    Оriginal foreign educational certificates and (or) academic certificates and qualifications

  • №04

    Russian translation of original foreign educational certificates and academic record transcript certified as required by RF Law

  • №05

    Сopies of documents or other evidence supporting affiliation of a compatriot living abroad

    to the groups provided by the Article 17 of the Federal Law dated May 24, 1999 No. 99-FL “On the National Policy of the Russian Federation towards Compatriots Living Abroad”

The applicant’s surname, name and patronymic (if any), indicated in the translations of the submitted documents, shall comply with the surname, name and patronymic indicated in the identity document of a foreign citizen in the Russian Federation. Residence

  • Invitation letter/ Pre-arrival information for representatives from visa countries

    Processing of an invitation letter for entry into the Russian Federation for foreign citizens

    General information:

    • For obtaining a study visa, the foreign citizen’s passport expiration date should not be less than 18 months from the date of intended/planed entry.
    • Scanned copy of passport should be clear and easy-to-read.
    • When a foreign citizen is going to apply for a Russian visa in a country differing from the country of citizenship, a copy of the document confirming the right of the foreign citizen for permanent stay in a third country and a notarized translation of this document should be attached to the documents submitted for processing an invitation letter. The document is meant to be valid for 6 months after the future Russian visa expiration.
    • An invitation for entry into the Russian Federation for foreign citizens is issued in electronic form and sent to the e-mail put on the application form when submitting documents.

    For submission of documents for invitation processing, you need:

    1. Send an original passport scan (the first page with a photo) to 210699.sgu@gmail.com;

    2. Send a scan of the latest Russian visa (if the foreign citizen previously visited Russian Federation);

    3. For invitations on humanitarian visas (scientific and technical cooperation), as well as for foreign citizens arriving to study at the SSU Preparatory Department, a state fee of 960 rubles is paid.The state fee is paid to the banking details.

    Invitations procedure time:

    Invitations procedure time is 40-45 working days

    Invitation is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

    After receiving an invitation, a foreign citizenhas to contact the Consular Division of the Russian Federation in the country of his/her living or permanent stay in order to receive a visa to enter the Russian Federation.

  • Registration upon arrival (necessary for all categories of foreign citizens)

    All foreign citizens have to follow the Migration Law. Experienced specialists from the Saratov State University Division of International Cooperation will assist:

    Migration registration

    On arrival to Russia and then in Saratov, international students areresponsible forcontacting the Saratov State University Division of International Cooperation (72/74 Zheleznodorozhnaya str., Saratov, room 111) within 2 working daysupon the arrival in the country formigration registration and dormitory check-in.

    A foreign citizenprovides the following documents:

    1. a passport (original) and copies of filled out pages of the passport;
    2. Measles test (the result is done in 3-5 days) (Gemotest (Гемотест) – Moskovskaya street, 149A building);
    3. Chest X-ray, dermatologist, blood RW-test (Hospital №2, room №34 – Moskovskaya street, 137/149 building)

    The specialist from the Saratov State University Division of International Cooperation (72/74 Zheleznodorozhnaya str., Saratov, room 111) processes the registration of international students within 7 calendar days.After 7 days, a foreign citizen is obliged to contact the Division and take a copy of the registration.

    The following procedures which verify legal status for foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federationare required:

    • medical examination (address: Saratovskaya street 10А/Саратовская улица, д.10А);
    • fingerprinting and photographing (in police departments at the place of registration).
  • Visa Extension

    Procedure for Visa Extension

    A foreign citizen applies to theSaratov State University Division of International Cooperation for their visa extension.Foreign citizens collect the required documents and provide them to the Division 45 days before the visa expiration.

    The required documents:

    • a passport (Important: the passport expiration dateis to exceed validity period of a multiple-entry visa by 6 months);
    • copies of all filled out pages of the passport (for those who live in the dormitory);
    • copies of the passport two-page opening with a photo and with a valid visa (2 pcs.)
    • copies of migration card issued at the point of entry into RF (2 pcs);
    • copies of registration (2 pcs.)
    • 1 photo (size 3x4 cm);
    • a copy of medical insurance policy;
    • a copy of the document confirming the fingerprinting and photographing;
    • a bank invoice of state fee payment for the multiple-entry visa issue (1,920 rubles);
    • A copy of the certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
    • a copy of the student contract at SSU - for non-scholarship students /a copy of the certificate from the place of study (Dean's office or Directorate) – for scholarship students;
    • a letter of authorization by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;
    • a copy of the certificate of the Russian language courses completion (for Preparatory Departmentstudents)
